Raiders Win Columbus Quad, Place Third at Deerfield

 


On Friday, May 8, the Sugar River track team competed at the Deerfield Classic. Both the girls and boys team placed third out of 16 teams.

Sophomore Kirsta Diaz finished second in the girls 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.77, while senior Colton Boley placed fourth in the boys 100 meter hurdles at 16.60. Freshman Cole Myers also competed in this event.

In the girls 100 meter dash, junior Logan Fahey earned sixth place with a time of 13.60, and teammate junior Devyn Wieser ran this event as well.

Senior Brandon Shemanski took fifth in the boys 100 meter dash at 11.74, and right behind him in seventh place was Nick Smith with a time of 11.92. Junior Cole Martin competed in this event too.

Senior Brianne Roska earned fifth place in the girls 1600 meter run while senior Sam Barr and junior Kerry McCoy also ran this event.

Junior Justin Edge ran in the boys 1600 meter run.

The Sugar River girls team won the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:52.22 while the boys team took second at 1:34.88.

In the boys 400 meter dash, junior Lukas Diaz finished seventh at 56.15, and teammate junior Ryan Dull took ninth.

In the girls 4x100 meter relay, the Raiders girls took seventh place, and the boys earned third place with a time of 45.97.

In the girls 300 meter hurdles, Diaz placed ninth while sophomore Ciara Roberts took 16th.

Boley earned second place in the boys 300 meter hurdles with Myers doing this event as well.

Finishing eighth, ninth, and tenth in the girls 800 meter run was junior Lauren O'Connor, Barr, and Roska.

On the boys side of the 800 meter run, sophomore Jordan Hosler and freshman Evan Reifert competed for Sugar River.

In the girls high jump, senior Trisha Wiese took third place with a height of 4-10.00 while senior Tanner Hofer earned fifth at 5-10.00 in the boys high jump.

Senior Ashley Clark placed third in the girls pole vault at 9-00.00, and junior Kati Way finished fifth with 8-00.00.

In the boys pole vault, Smith finished at 8-06.00 for 15th place.

In the girls long jump, junior Madalena Macht took sixth with a distance of 14-11.00, and sophomore Grace Schulting and senior Jessica Hutter jumped as well.

Senior Ryan Hayes took fifth place in the boys long jump at 19-09.5, and Shemanski was close behind in eighth place at 19-02.25.

Macht earned fifth place in the girls triple jump with a jump of 31-09.75 while Schulting and freshman Walela Three-Sticks placed in the top 15.

For the boys, Diaz competed in the boys triple jump.

With a distance of 90-00, junior Cassie McMillan earned sixth place in the girls discus throw, and teammate senior Madeline Knox finished ninth.

Junior Landon Zimmerman won the boys discus throw with a distance of 155-08, and in third place was senior Mike Fink at 142-10 while senior Jackson McMahan took 11th.

Junior Daisy Rivera earned seventh place in the girls shot put.

In the boys shot put, Zimmerman took second at 50-01.00, and Fink placed third at 49-09.50; McMahan took ninth at 43-00.00.

Fahey earned fourth in the girls 200 meter dash with a time of 27.78. In the boys 200 meter dash, sophomore Cade Martin placed tenth at 24.41, and freshman Dalton Fahey took 11th. Junior Eli Rule ran this event for the boys as well.

Sophomore Noelle Maire won the girls 3200 meter run with a time of 11:26.34, and also competing for Sugar River was freshman Abby Weisberg.

Running the boys 3200 meter run was sophomore Kyle Fredrickson and sophomore Christian Arnett.

The Sugar River girls 4x400 meter relay team took ninth, and the boys team took sixth.

In the girls 4x800 meter relay, the Raiders placed third, and in the boys event, the Sugar River team placed 12th.

At the Columbus Quad on Tuesday, May 5, the Sugar River boys and girls teams won their duals against Waterloo.

For the girls, Fahey took first in the 100 meter dash at 13.52, Eliza Woods took fourth at 14.34, and Wieser took ninth at 14.94.

In the girls 200 meter dash, Fahey earned second at 27.66, Way took third with 29.59, and Woods placed seventh at 30.91.

With a time of 2:38.00, O'Connor won the girls 800 meter run, and right behind her in second place was Roska at 2:39.00. McCoy took ninth in this event for the Raiders.

Maire won the girls 1600 meter run at 5:32.00, and McCoy took eighth.

Roska then won the girls 3200 meter run with a time of 12:49.00, and teammate Barr took second at 13:19.00.

Diaz earned third in the girls 100 meter hurdles at 16.96, and Roberts took fifth at 19.78.

Diaz also took third in the girls 300 meter hurdles with a time of 53.67, and Roberts earned fifth place as well at 58.64.

The 4x100 meter relay team of Bridget Craker, Clark, Wieser and Woods finished second at 55.74, and in the girls 4x200 meter relay, the team of Fahey, Way, Schulting and Diaz won the event with a time of 1:54.81.

The team of O'Connor, Wiese, Schulting and Maire earned third place in the 4x400 meter relay.

Barr, O'Connor, Roska and Maire won the girls 4x800 meter relay with a time of 10:38.36.

Wiese finished second in the girls high jump with a height of 4-08.00, while Roberts took fifth at 4-02.00.

Clark earned second place in the girls pole vault with a height of 9-00.00, Way earned third place at 7-00.00, and Rebecca Barr earned seventh at 5-00.00.

In the girls long jump, Schulting took third place at 14-06.00, Kenzie O'Connor took seventh with a distance of 12-07.00, and Craker took 10th at 12-00.00.

Schulting then took fourth place in the girls triple jump with a distance of 27-09.00.

Rivera earned second in the girls shot put with a distance of 31-03.75 followed closely by McMillan's distance of 28-03.00 to earn third place. Knox threw for 25-10.25 to take fifth place.

Knox won the girls discus throw at 82-02, and Rivera took fourth with a throw of 70-11.

Shemanski won the boys 100 meter dash with a time of 11.46 followed closely by teammate Smith's time in second place at 11.62. Cole Martin earned seventh place in this event at 11.93.

Hofer earned the overall win in the boys 200 meter dash at 24.13 while Cade Martin took fourth with a time of 24.56, and Fahey took sixth at 25.01.

Diaz finished in third place for the boys 400 meter dash at 56.38, and Ryan Dull earned fifth place while teammate Aiden Pottratz took ninth.

In the boys 800 meter run, Fredrickson finished in sixth at 2:20.00, Hosler finished in eighth at 2:27.00, and Reifert finished in 10th at 2:29.00.

Finishing in seventh, eighth, and ninth for the Raiders was Fredrickson, Arnett, and Reifert in the boys 1600 meter run.

Edge took third in the boys 3200 meter run with a time of 11:28.00, and Hosler earned eighth.

Boley won the boys 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.32, and Myers took fifth at 19.71.

Additionally, Boley also won the boys 300 meter hurdles with a time of 42.68, and Myers also took fifth at 49.20.

The Sugar River team of Fahey, Cole Martin, Hayes and Shemanski won the boys 4x100 meter relay with a time of 46.25.

Placing third in the boys 4x200 meter relay was the team of Cade Martin, Hayes, Boley and Hofer at 1:40.88.

In the boys 4x400 meter relay, Dull, Myers, Diaz and Rule took third place with a time of 3:58.91.

Arnett, Edge, Fredrickson and Hosler earned second place in the boys 4x80 meter relay at 9:16.43.

Boley took fifth place in the boys high jump with a height of 5-02.00.

Shemanski won the boys long jump with a distance of 20-02.50, and right behind him was Hayes in second place with a jump of 19-08.50. Diaz earned sixth place with a distance of 17-02.50.

Diaz took fourth place in the boys triple jump with a distance of 35-04.00, and Miguel Santos finished sixth at 33-06.75; Drew Pickett finished ninth with a jump of 31-05.50.

Fink won the shot put with a distance of 50-01.25, and Zimmerman took third at 48-02.00. McMahan earned sixth place with a throw of 41-08.50.

Zimmerman finished in second place in the boys discus throw with a distance of 154-03, Fink finished in third at 137-06, and McMahan earned fifth at 120-10.
