The Monticello Chamber held a ribbon cutting for the Sugar River Country Bakery on Sunday, March 5, 2023, located at 209 N. Main Street in Monticello. Sunday was also the day of their grand opening.

Sugar River Country Bakery was established over 40 years ago by Glenn and Kathy Clark who were some of the earliest vendors at the Dane County Farmers Market when it started 50 years ago. In 2018, the Clarks asked if the McNaught family would be interested in taking over the bakery and they were absolutely honored to be the new owners of SRCB, so here they are today, in downtown Monticello.

The Sugar River Country Bakery makes a large variety of cookies, scones, bars, breads, and pies, all from scratch, and sure to please any sweet tooth! Stop into their new storefront to test their newest addition to their baked goods, donuts!

The Sugar River Bakery's current hours are Sunday and Monday, 7:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m .; and Wednesday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. They are closed on Tuesdays. Check out their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/SugarRiverCountryBakery and their website at https://www.sugarrivercountrybakery.com.
