Lady Knights Seeded #1 for First Time in School Program History

On February 7th, the New Glarus Lady Knights hosted Waterloo. Leading 34-11 at the half, New Glarus cruised to a 62-34 victory.

Lindsey Schadewalt scored 26 points to lead the Knights, with 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 block, while Alex Atwell scored 12 points and had 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 4 blocks and Grace Nommensen scored 8 points with 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.

The game against the Lady Vanguards of Wisconsin Heights was a blow out, with New Glarus winning 82-35, after a 40-20 halftime lead.

With 27 points, Lindsey Schadewalt led New Glarus in scoring. She also had 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal. Elle Lancaster scored 14 points, with 5 rebounds and 2 assists and Alex Atwell scored 13 points with 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 3 blocks.

The Lady Knights played at Oregon on February 13th. They play their last regular season game at home against Marshall on February 16th. For the first time in school program history, they have earned a #1 seeding in the WIAA Division 4 Regional Tournament.

They were also named outright champions of the Capitol South Conference for the first time since 2007 with a 9-0 conference record (22-0 overall). Having received a bye for the first round of regional play, they will play the winner of the #9 Waterloo vs #8 Marshall game on Friday, February 24th, at a location yet to be determined.
