Wildcats Run at Platteville

The Wildcat runners enjoyed perfect weather for practicing and racing this week. Saturday, the High School team traveled to Platteville for the McKichen Invitational and ran on the UW-Platteville course.
The Varsity races were scored as two divisions, small schools and large schools, although all the runners raced together. The JV races were combined scores regardless of school.
The Varsity girls raced first, with Alora Spiegel leading the team with a time of 21:15. She also received a ribbon for her 13th place finish in the small school division. Following her were Lainey Winkers with a season PR of 22:45, Alice Elliott with season PR of 25:36, Ruby Gustafson (26:56) and Maddie Miller (28:21). The girls placed 9th for small schools.
Allison Dyrhaug and Annika Esselstrom ran for JV and finished with times of 28:49 and 35:58, respectively.
For the boys races, Carter Scholey placed 2nd overall, but 1st in the small schools division, and received a trophy, with a time of 16:09. Angelo Dohm received a ribbon for his 27th place finish with a time of 18:37. Jackson Scholey also received a ribbon for his 29th place finish with a time of 18:46. This was a season PR for Jackson. Rounding out the rest of the boy's race was Blake Johnson (19:21), Niles Monroe (19:33), Aiden Campbell (19:52), and Adrian Jenkins (21:48). The boys placed 3rd for small schools.
The JV boys were led by William Booth, finishing with a career best of 20:38. He was followed by Christopher Weber (23:58), William Gobel (24:06), Ben Remy with a career best of 24:15, Shepard Nass (26:20), Keegan Dohm (21:38) and Dallas Ziegler with a season PR of 35:34. The JV boys placed 12th.
The Middle School runners had a meet last Thursday at Twining Park in Monroe. The race was 1.5 miles for 7th grade and 2 miles for 8th grade. Finishing times are as follows - 7th graders: Avery Holverson 14:01, Ethan Kaetterhenry 11:07 and Matt Allen 10:30. Eighth graders: Meara Allen 16:26, Sophie Howard 17:01, Emily Fahrenkrug 19:23, Carson Biermeier 13:17, Aiden Buol 14:20, Noah Hesch 14:39, Brady Noble 14:56 and Shannon McCall 23:17.
The next Middle School meet is Tuesday, October 4th at DeForest. This Saturday, both the Middle School and High School will be running at Albany. Good luck Cats!
