Raiders Shut Down Argyle

The Belleville Raiders Home Talent baseball team hosted Argyle on Sunday, May 30, in the first home game of the 2022 season. The Raiders improved to 2-1 on the season after winning the game 20-0 in six innings.
Curtis Sheahan started the game pitching for the Raiders going five innings, allowing no runs and struck out 7. Andrew Nimtz came in relief. Nimtz went one inning allowing no runs and striking out 2.
The Raiders jumped to an early lead in the first inning on a two out, three run homerun by Brock Gilkes. In both the second and third innings the Raiders added four more runs. The fifth inning is when the Raiders offense broke loose, scoring eight runs on eight hits.
Leading hitters were Matt Everson, 4-5; Sam Urquhart, 3-5; Curtis Sheahan, 4-5; Drew Haack, 2-3; Brock Gilkes, 3-3; Logan Ludlum, 4-5; and Blake Noel, 2-2.
The Raiders played at Shullsburg on June 2nd and at Verona on June 5th. They will host Pine Bluff/Mount Horeb on June 9th and play at Shullsburg on June 12th.
