NG Golf Wraps Up Season at Regionals, Bodenstein Advances

New Glarus hosted the Division 2 WIAA regional golf tourney on the scenic links of Edelweiss Golf Course. Only 1 stroke kept the Knights from advancing to sectionals. New Glarus finished 5th of out 10 teams. On the leaderboard were 1) Edgewood 318, 2) Lodi 324, 3) Edgerton 333, 4) Brodhead 344, and 5) New Glarus 345.
Nolan Bodenstein led the Knights with his season-best score of 84, advancing as an individual to sectionals. Zak Arnett shot an 86; Ben Lukszys carded an 87; Jack Douma, 88; and Carter Siegenthaler, 95.
At the post-season NG Golf Banquet, Coach Jon Goodness and Coach Gary Beutler shared thoughtful remarks about every player on the JV and Varsity squads. The coaches presented several awards. Zak Arnett was awarded MVP; Ben Lukszys and Carter Siegenthaler received Coaches Awards. Varsity letters were awarded to the above, plus freshmen Jackson Erstad and Lance Brecklin. Looking ahead to the 2023 season, Nolan Bodenstein and Jack Douma were announced as Co-Captains.
