Ponies Track Competes in Darlington and Belleville

The Monticello Ponies varsity track team competed at the Redbird Invite in Darlington on Monday, May 9th. The boys team finished in 8th place, while the girls finished in 9th place.
“Hannah Clark did amazing as always!” said Kim Becker. “She took 1st in both the 200 and 400! Evan Guenther also impressed. He took 1st in both the 800 and 1600! Our boys 4x800 team took 1st.”
Boys Results
In the 200M Dash, Mason McCutchin placed 13th, while Ben Collins finished 17th and Tait Swanson finished 20th.
In the 400M Dash, Ben Collins finished 15th, while Tait Swanson finished 25th.
Evan Guenther won the 800M Run, while Braylon Hoesly finished 10th.
Evan Guenther also won the 1600M Run, while Braylon Hoesly finished 8th.
In the 3200M Run, Ian Schwartzlow finished 4th.
In the 300M Hurdles, Brayden Ryan finished 7th.
The 4x200M Relay team of Mason McCutchin, Atreyu Blades, Ayden Wilkins and Seth Culberson finished 7th.
In the 4x400M Relay, the team of Alex Roe, Ben Collins, Seth Culberson and Brayden Ryan finished 5th.
The 4x800M Relay team, consisting of Brayden Ryan, Alex Roe, Ian Schwartzlow and Evan Guenther won the event, almost 30 seconds ahead of the 2nd place team.
In the Long Jump, Alex Roe finished 4th, while Mason McCutchin finished 14th and Ayden Wilkins finished 22nd.
In the Shot Put, Wade Noriega finished 16th, while Seth Culberson finished 21st and Joe DiCristina finished 28th.
In the Discus Throw, Wade Noriega finished 11th, while Ben Collins finished 26th and Joe DiCristina finished 30th.
Girls Results
Hannah Clark won the 200M Dash and the 400M Dash.
In the Shot Put, Natalie Wahl finished 19th. Wahl placed 4th in the Discus Throw.
On Friday, May 13th, the Ponies competed at the Raider Invite in Belleville. The girls finished in 11th place, while the boys placed 9th.
“Although the weather was a bit iffy, Monticello still did well at the meet on Friday. There were many PRs!” said Kim Becker. “Hannah Clark took 1st in the 400. Evan Guenther took 2nd in the 400. Our 4x800 team of Brayden Ryan, Braylon Hoesly, Ian Schwartzlow and Evan Guenther took 2nd.”
Girls Results
In the 100M Dash, Natalie Wahl finished 19th.
Hannah Clark won the 400M Dash.
In the Shot Put, Natalie Wahl finished 20th. Wahl finished 6th in Discus Throw and 17th in the Long Jump.
Boys Results
In the 100M Dash, Mason McCutchin finished 17th, while Tait Swanson finished 20th and Ayden Wilkins finished 21st.
In the 400M Dash, Evan Guenther finished 2nd with a PR, while Ben Collins finished 9th with a PR and Tait Swanson finished 19th.
In the 1600M Run, Braylon Hoesly finished 10th with a SR.
In the 300M Hurdles, Brayden Ryan finished 7th with a PR.

The Ponies attended a conference meet at UW-Platteville on May 16th. They have a Regional Meet in Darlington on May 23rd.
