SR Soccer Wins Over Lake Mills

The Sugar River Raiders varsity girls soccer team played Lake Mills on April 21st and won, 5-0.
First half scores were made by Haley Thompson assisted by Riley O’Flanagan, and Anya Brenkman. In the second half, Paige Leonard, Jenna Gentilli assisted by Hannah Boldebuck, and Anya Brenkman scored goals, and the last goal was scored on a PK by Hannah Boldebuck.
Morgan Thompson and Skyler Beyer each had 2 saves at goal.
On April 23rd, the Raiders played a dual with Platteville since their quad was canceled. Sugar River came out on top, 3-0.
All of Sugar River’s goals were scored in the first half. Samantha Schiro assisted by Bella Brenkman, Jenna Gentilli assisted by Anya Brenkman, and Anya Brenkman assisted by Bella Brenkman scored the goals.
Morgan Thompson and Skyler Beyer each had 2 saves.
On April 26th, the Raiders played at Cambridge/Deerfield and won it 4-0.
First half goals were scored by Anya Brenkman, Callie Smith with an assist from Paige Leonard, and Libby MacLean with an assist from Anya Brenkman.
In the second half, Lainey Winkers, assisted by Anya Brenkman, scored a goal.
Morgan Thompson had 2 saves on goal.
At the Big Foot Tournament, the weather was rainy, chilly and windy.
Game one was against Delavan-Darien, and Sugar River won 3-0. First half scores were made by Hannah Boldebuck with an assist from Callie Smith, and Bella Brenkman on a PK. In the second half, Anya Brenkman scored for the Raiders.
Morgan Thompson had 3 saves at goal, while Skyler Beyer had 2.
Game two was against Platteville, and the Raiders won 1-0. Jenna Gentilli scored the goal with an assist from Haley Thompson.
Morgan Thompson had 3 saves.
The Championship game was against Westosha Central and Sugar River lost. The final score was Westosha Central 2, Sugar River 0.
Morgan Thompson had 6 saves.
The Raiders hosted Columbus on May 3rd. They will play at McFarland on May 6th and at Lakeside Lutheran on May 10th.
