On April 9th, the Belleville Lady Wildcats varsity softball team opened their season with a DH at Lake Mills. The final score was Lake Mills 16, Belleville 0, for game one and Lake Mills 12, Belleville 0 for game two.

Kailey Prochaska had the lone hit for the team in game one. Prochaska also pitched all 5 innings, striking out 1.

In game two, Claire Patrow and Courtney Ehlert had hits for the Wildcats.

Ava Benash and Kailey Prochaska shared the mound in game two, with Benash striking out 1 and Prochaska 2.

On April 11, the Wildcats hosted Parkview. The game was close throughout, but the Wildcats came out on top in the end. The final score was Belleville 11, Parkview 9.

Kailey Prochaska was 2x2 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI, while McKenzie Downing went 2x3 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI. Karena Simmons, MacKenzie Stampfl, Courtney Ehlert, Averi Boyum and Heidi Marty all had 2 hits, while Ava Benash had 1. Ava Benash and MacKenzie Stampfl scored 2 runs, and Karena Simmons, McKenzie Downing, Courtney Ehlert, Avery Boyum and Heidi Marty all scored 1 each.

Ava Benash pitched for 1 inning striking out 1, while Kailey Prochaska pitched 6 innings and struck out 5.

The Wildcats also played Wisconsin Heights on April 12th, but stats for that game were not provided by press time.

Belleville will host Waterloo on April 19th, then play at Cambridge on April 21st and at Waterloo on April 23rd.
