M/NG Softball Falls to Darlington in Season Opener

On March 29th, the Monticello/New Glarus softball team opened up their spring season with a home game against Darlington, in Monticello. The final score was Darlington 15, Monticello/New Glarus 9.
Darlington took an early lead and M/NG scored 3 runs in the third inning, 1 run each in the fifth and sixth innings and 4 in the seventh.
Karlee Wilkins was 1x3 at bat and scored 3 runs, while Kara Whisler was 1x1 with 1 run scored and Dalana Trumpy was 1x1 with 1 run scored. Megan Peterson, Sadie Wilkins, Jaden Zuber and Brea McCoy also scored runs.
Tatum O’Bel pitched for 4 innings, striking out 2 while Jaden Zuber pitched 2 innings with 3 strike outs and Kara Whisler pitched for 1 inning.
Monticello/New Glarus played at Belleville on April 5th. They will host River Ridge in Monticello on April 7th and host Juda/Albany on April 11th, also in Monticello.
