Belleville's Kailey Prochaska defends the 3-point line in the Wildcat's game against Lancaster.

On Thursday, December 23rd, the Wildcats traveled to Lancaster to take on the Flying Arrows for an early tip off at 6:00 p.m., and unfortunately saw their first loss of the season.

The first half of the game saw a very tight score, with Belleville taking a 21-19 lead into the locker room at halftime. Unfortunately, the Wildcats had an unusual night and were just not able to make their shots sink, only shooting 31% from under the hoop and 22% from the 3-point line on this night, leading to a final score of 49-43 with Lancaster coming out on top at the final buzzer.

Coach Pharo stated that you are going to have nights like this at times and sometimes the ball just doesn't always go in.

"But on the bright side," he said, "it was nice to see junior Kailey Prochaska come off the bench and score 8 points for the Wildcats along with her nice boost of energy for the team."

Belleville was led by Callie Smith with 13 points, 12 rebounds and 2 blocks, Mickey Stampfl with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks, and Kailey Prochaska with 8 points and 1 block.

The Wildcats will play December 29th and 30th in a Holiday Tournament in Evansville, at which time they will take on the 3rd ranked team in Division 4 Brodhead and the host team Evansville.
