Raiders Wrestling Competes at Badger State Invitational

The Sugar River Raiders varsity wrestlers competed in the 48th Annual Badger State Invitational at the Alliant Energy Center on December 18th against 17 other teams. The Raiders finished in 12th place.

Wrestling at 106 lbs, Blake Endres (10-4) placed 4th and scored 18.5 team points. Endres had a bye in the first two rounds and in round three he won by tech fall over Fennimore’s Dalton Leffler. In round four he lost by fall to Darlington’s Ethan Aird. In the 3rd Place Match, Endres lost by decision to Badger’s Logan Clausen.

Mason Mau (12-2), wrestling at 126 lbs, placed 4th and scored 17 team points. Mau had a bye in the first two rounds and in the third round he won by decision over Waunakee’s Jayden Freie. In round four, Mau lost by decision to Hickman’s Hayden Benter. In the 3rd Place Match, Mau lost by decision to Stoughton’s Chance Suddeth.

Wrestling at 132 lbs, Brennan Keyes (7-3) scored 6 team points. In round one Keyes had a bye and in round two he lost by major decision to DC Everest’s Blake Bangston. Keyes had a bye in rounds three and four and in the Consolation Match he won by decision over Daniel Jimenez of Madison LaFollette.

Matthew Loshaw (8-5), wrestling at 138 lbs, scored 8 team points. Loshaw received a bye for round one and in round two he lost by fall to Badger’s Mason Smith. With a third round bye, Loshaw faced Madison LaFollette’s Emmanuel Furlow in round four and won by fall. In the Consolation Match, Loshaw won by injury default over Pewaukee’s Isaiah Wilson.

Wrestling at 145 lbs, Avery Lettman (7-5) scored 8 team points. Lettman received a bye in round one and in round two lost by decision to Takyan Allen of Hickman. In round three, Lettman had a bye and in round four he won by fall over Anthony Herrera of Milwaukee Ronald Reagan. In the Consolation Match, Lettman won by fall over Laona-Wabeno’s Jackson Harris.

Wrestling at 152 lbs, Ryker Swenson (7-4) scored 6 team points. Swenson received a bye for round one and in round two lost by decision to Brookfield East’s Anthony Megal. In round three Swenson had a bye and in round four he won by fall over Waunakee’s Scott Jezik. In the Consolation Match, Swenson lost by major decision to Milwaukee Ronald Reagan’s Hector Razo.

Alex Zielinski (6-3), wrestling at 170 lbs, scored 8 team points. Zielinski received a bye for round one and in round two lost by fall to DC Everest’s Daytona Pagel. Zielinski had a bye for round three and in round four won by fall over Jesse Lenya of Madison LaFollette. In the Consolation Match, Zielinski won by fall over Cooper Murphy of Lake Mills. On December 23rd, the Raiders have a match at Turner High School. They will attend an invitational at UW-Oshkosh on December 29th and 30th.
