New Glarus Girls Open Up Season With A Win

New Glarus's Lindsey Schadewalt was 13-13 from the line during the win against Poynette on November 23rd. Schadewalt scored 31 points for the night.

On November 23rd, the varsity New Glarus girls basketball team hosted Poynette. With a 30-23 lead at the half, the Lady Knights outscored Poynette in the second half to win the game, 64-46.

Coach Kevin Parman stated, "Slow end to the first half, with a few starters with 2 fouls. Finished the 2nd half strong! Team free throws, 19 of 24. (Lindsey) Schadewalt 31 points, 13 of 13 from the line! We played a complete game the 2nd half on both ends."

Along with Schadewalt leading the team with 31 points, four of which were 3-pointers, Alex Atwell had 9 points, Elle Lancaster scored 6 points and Grace Nommensen and Megan Peterson both put 5 points on the board.

On November 27th, the Lady Knights played at Evansville. New Glarus led by a slim 3 points at the half and pulled out a 62-50 win over the Lady Blue Devils.

"Great game! Great test physical and mentally," said Coach Parman. "Three games, I'm happy overall with our play! We definitely can improve! The girls have had excellent attitudes."

Lindsey Schadewalt scored 28 points, while Elle Lancaster scored 10 points and was 2-2 from the line, Peyton Yaun scored 8 points, and Dayna Karls, Alex Atwell, Grace Nommensen and Bella Brenkman all scored 4 points each.

Earlier in the week, on November 18th, New Glarus traveled to Deerfield to open up their season. The Lady Knights held a 27-15 lead at the half, and won the game 48-36.

Lindsey Schadewalt led New Glarus with 22 points, while Alex Atwell scored 5 points, Peyton Yaun scored 4 points and Grace Nommensen scored 3 points.

New Glarus played at Black Hawk on November 29th. They host Barneveld on December 7th and play at Lancaster on December 13th.
