Monticello Volleyball Headed to State Tournament!
Ponies Earn Sectional Championship

The Monticello Ponies girls volleyball team will participate in the State Tournament on Friday at 9:00 a.m., in Green Bay. On October 28th, the Monticello Ponies girls volleyball team played a third round WIAA Regional game against Central Wisconsin Christian. The Ponies won in four sets, 31-33; 25-16; 25-18; 27-25.
Ellie Gustafson had 24 kills, while Hannah Clark had 14 and Macey Grant had 5. Hannah Clark had 5 blocks and Kelsy Grant had 3. Jaden Zuber had 5 aces, while Hannah Clark, Macey Grant and Katelyn Eyler each had 3. Kelsy Grant had 39 assists.
The win against Central Wisconsin Christian allowed the Lady Ponies to advance to the Sectional Championship against Hilbert. Monticello won the Sectional Championship in three sets, 25-18; 25-23; 25-13.
Hannah Clark had 4 blocks, 11 kills and 8 digs, while Ellie Gustafson had 2 blocks, 19 kills, 12 digs, and 4 aces, Macey Grant had 4 aces, Kelsy Grant had 33 assists and Katelyn Eyler had 2 blocks.
The Lady Ponies face Wabeno/Laona on Friday, November 5th, at 9:00 a.m., at the Resch Center in Green Bay. The winner of that match will play the winner of the McDonell Catholic vs Wonewoc-Center semifinal for the state championship at 9:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 6, 2021.
