Wildcats Win Over Golden Eagles

The Belleville Wildcats Homecoming game was held on Friday, October 1st, against the Golden Eagles of Fennimore. Belleville dominated the game, winning 42-14.

The Wildcats scored twice in the first quarter. Once on a pass from Trevor Syse to Carson Syse and Dylan Posthuma ran it in from 2 yards out. Fennimore started the second quarter off with a score and the Wildcats answered back with one of their own when Trevor Syse ran it in from 5 yards out. Belleville's 2-point conversion by Anthony Nolden was successful. Halftime score was 21-7.

In the third quarter, the Wildcats scored twice. Trevor Syse tossed one to Anthony Nolden for a 20-yard gain and kicked the extra point and Patrick Samon ran it in from 12 yards out for another score. Syse's PAT was good. With less than 8 minutes to go in the fourth, Trevor Syse ran it in from 3 yards out and his PAT was good. Fennimore scored again, but it was too late to make a difference.

Trevor Syse completed 13 out of 21 passing attempts for 203 yards as QB.

Dylan Posthuma led the Wildcats in rushing, with 115 yards, while Trevor Syse had 63 yards, Jake Fahey had 16 yards and Patrick Samon had 12 yards.

Anthony Nolden racked up 101 receiving yards for the team, while Demarcus Conner had 42, Carson Syse had 35 and Dylan Posthuma had 25.

Jake Fahey and Dylan Posthuma both had 2 tackles while Casey Hagen, Alonso Vega, Demarcus Conner, Aidan Keyes, Landry Yarborough, Carson Syse, Brady Durni, Ray Homme and Jake Shemanski all had 1 tackle each.

The Wildcats are sitting at second place in the SWAL, one game behind Darlington, with a conference record of 4-1. They host Darlington on October 8th, kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.
