Sugar River's goalie, Cam Kleiboer, makes a save.

"Everything we do in life, we want to get better. Am I a better person? Am I a better athlete?" Coach Bob Gentilli, Head Coach of the varsity boys soccer team, poses these questions to his players and realizes lessons learned on the soccer field extend far beyond the lines.

WISC-TV Sports Director Zach Hanley honored Coach Gentilli as Coach of the Week on the September 9th News 3 Now broadcast. The video is available at https://www.channel3000.com/coach-of-the-week-sugar-rivers-bob-gentilli.

During the day, Mr. Gentilli teaches 7th and 8th graders social studies in the Belleville School District. He also is an assistant coach for the Sugar River girls soccer team. His deep resume in coaching includes over 20 combined seasons of coaching varsity softball, track, and football.

The Raiders defeated Lakeside Lutheran 7-3 on their home turf last week, with goals scored by Ryan Downing (3), Aiden Hatelberg (2), Gavin Boyum, and Carter Siegenthaler, and with Ryan Hagen contributing two assists.

On September 14th, the Raiders played at Columbus. They host Platteville in Belleville on September 16th and face Lake Mills in Belleville on September 21st.
