Sugar River Girls Soccer Beats Cambridge-Deerfield

On Tuesday, May 4th, the Sugar River girls soccer team played their first game of the season against Cambridge-Deerfield in Belleville. Sugar River won it, 3-0.
Bella Brenkman, assisted by Kirsten Krantz, scored the first goal for Sugar River. Also scoring goals in the first half were Emma Anson and Callie Smith.
Morgan Thompson recorded 2 saves as GK, while Kaitlyn Peterson had 1 save.
On May 8th, the team participated in the Big Foot Invite.
Game one was against Janesville Craig. Sugar River lost, 0-2.
Morgan Thompson had 2 saves.
Game two was against Delavan-Darien, and Sugar River won, 2-1.
In the first half, Bella Brenkman, assisted by Jaylynn Benson, scored a goal. Benson then scored a goal in the second half.
Kaitlyn Peterson had 3 saves.
Game three was against Catholic Memorial, where the game ended up tied 0-0. Sugar River advanced by PKs (4-3).
Morgan Thompson had 6 saves.
Sugar River took fifth place in the tournament.
The Raiders played at Columbus on May 11th. They’re hosting a quad in New Glarus on May 15th, and will host Lakeside Lutheran on May 18th in New Glarus and Wisconsin Heights in Belleville on May 20th.
