Belleville's Alyssa Caskey, with 9 points, was top scorer for the Lady Wildcats in their game against New Glarus.

On Thursday, December 17th, the Belleville girls basketball team traveled to Waterloo for their first conference matchup of the season. The Wildcats came out strong in the first half, building a 29-22 lead at halftime. But Coach Pharo stated that he didn't think they came out with the same focus at the beginning of the second half, which allowed the lead to slip away. The remainder of the second half was back and forth between the two teams with Waterloo coming out on top with a 55-52 win over the Wildcats.

Leading scorers for Belleville were Mickey Stampfl with 17 points and Callie Smith with 15 points and 15 rebounds.

On Saturday, December 19th, Belleville traveled to New Glarus to take on the Glarner Knights. Unfortunately, the Belleville Wildcats came out flat and weren't able to handle New Glarus' intense defensive pressure. Belleville struggled throughout the game leading to a season high number of turnovers, resulting in a 63-29 loss against the Glarner Knights.

Top scorers for Belleville were Alyssa Caskey with 9 points and Ava Foley with 8. Caskey also led the Wildcats in rebounds with 5 for this game.

The Wildcats will travel to Shullsburg on Tuesday, December 22nd, play at Highland on December 28th, play at Edgerton on December 29th, and play at Dodgeville on January 4th.
