Knights End Regular Season With a Loss, Move on to Regionals

The New Glarus Glarner Knights hosted Cuba City on February 24th. Down 27-42 at the half, the Knights lost the game despite a second half offensive push. The final score was Cuba City 77, New Glarus 59.
With 22 points, which included six 3-pointers, Connor Siegenthaler led the Knights in scoring. Mason Martinson scored 11 points, while Deven Vasquez added 8 to the score.

New Glarus played their final regular season game at home against Cambridge on February 27th. The Knights, who trailed by 8 at the half, posed a second half comeback that had them leading until a Cambridge player hit a 3-pointer with 2.8 seconds left to put the Blue Jays up by 1. The final score was Cambridge 73, New Glarus 72.
Mason Martinson poured in 25 points for the Knights, while Connor Siegenthaler added 19, which included four 3-pointers, and Darris Schuett scored 10 points.
New Glarus, who finished at the top of the Capitol South Conference with a record of 9-1 (14-8 overall), is seeded #5 for the Division 4 WIAA Regionals, and will host #12 Brookwood on March 3rd, with a 7:00 p.m. tip off. The winner will play at #4 Fennimore on March 6th, and should New Glarus win that game, they will play #1 Cuba City, #9 Boscobel or # 8 Lancaster on Saturday, March 7th, at a location to be determined.
