Raider Girls Dominate Against River Valley Blackhawks

Raider girls varsity soccer action this past week saw lots of different toes kicking goals in!

On Monday, April 29, the girls traveled to Spring Green to battle the Blackhawks of River Valley. Right from the start the Raider girls dominated, with three girls getting two goals each! In the first half, Francesca Schiro scored at 3:30; Amanda Lettman at 16:50, assist from Raegan Jelle; Riley Hubbard 25:40; Callie Ace 33:02; Riley Hubbard 34:30, assist from Julia McNamer and Paige Leonard; and the sixth goal was put in at 40:45 by Francesca Schiro. Going to the 2nd half, the Raiders continued to hammer the goal net with 4 MORE GOALS! At 47:45, Amanda Lettman, assist from Karstyn Rossing; Ellawyn Fong at 48:45; Paige Leonard (her FIRST VARSITY GOAL!), assist by Karstyn Rossing at 56:45; and the 10th goal of the night by Karstyn Rossing at 65:32. The game was called for 10 goal mercy rule. River Valley had 14 saves, Sugar River none. The 10th shutout in a row for the Raiders!

On Thursday, May 2, the girls traveled to Portage for a non-conference game. A close match ended with a 2-1 victory by the Raiders. Scoring in the first half was Riley Hubbard, assist from Callie Ace at 34:55. Ellie Gentilli booted the 2nd and final goal in for the Raiders at 62:05. Portage finished with a goal at the 84th minute. Sugar River had 1 save, while Portage had 10. The Raiders girls varsity record now stands at 11-1-2 with 10 shutouts and 3-0 in Capitol Conference standings.
