The most significant match of March 7th was between the Norsk Pranksters and Harley Blue Express. The Express came in hitting on 3 of 4 cylinders with 110 RPMs generated by Dale Herfel and Charlie Steinhauer, while the Pranksters could only get one cylinder to fire. With the 23-point win, the Express forced the need for a playoff match. These very same teams will play in this match on March 21st, at 8:00 p.m., place TBD.

The Riley Shufflers had a rough time getting anything going in their match against the Norsk Cowboys, the first half winners. Randy Schmid and Ferdie Schmitz scored 112 points for the Cowboys. While Shufflers Ed Chancellor and Dave Herfel stunk up the place in the fourth round when Randy and Ferdie shut them out, 15-0. With a skunk, any reasonable person would think Ed and Dave would end the night with the league’s low score for the week. Especially having compiled just 24 points in the first four games of the night. However, reaching a whopping 47 points (out of a possible 90) by the seventh game, Ed and Dave were matched up against Harold Schlimgen and Dean Disch who had accumulated a massive 52 points at this juncture. With just 5 points separating the two couples, they figured the loser would most likely end the night with the week’s low score. They were right, and, unfortunately for Harold and Dean, they lost this game by 6 points to end the night with a 68. Whereas, Dave and Ed finished with a 72. This score of 68 also took Dean out of first place in the fight for this season’s high average.

The league came very close to having two perfect scores in the match between Jones’ Plumbing and It’s Time (which we all know is impossible). Mounties Tom Magnuson and Bruce Milestone lost only their sixth game to Pipe Benders Jerome Krantz and Jeff Ellingson to end the night with 113 points. But it was Jerome and Jeff, who also lost only one game, their second, to believe it or not Tom and Bruce. Jeff and Jerome ended the night with a team win and this week’s high score of 117 points. The Mounties end the season winless in the second half.

In the match between the rodents, the S’Wisco Taphaus Cheese Eaters and the J&M Bar River Rats, the Cheese Eaters out ate the Rats by a mere 16 morsels.

Remember, the spring tournament will be held at Kleeman’s in New Glarus on March 14th. Registration begins at 7:00 p.m., play at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $10.00, which includes prize money and a meal. Hope to see you there.

Schedule: March 14: Spring Tournament to be held at Kleeman’s. March 21: Playoff Match – Harley Blue Express and Norsk Pranksters. March 28: Championship Match – Norsk Cowboys vs. winner of March 21st match.
