Belleville Wildcat Cross Country runners Gary Salmela and Gina Salmela.
What a unique season for our Cross Country team. The weather played a huge factor, from course changes to venue changes to distance changes. The Wildcats ran their sectional races in Boscobel on Saturday and, despite the wind and snow, the Wildcats saw some successes.
Senior Gary Salmela led the boys with a time of 19:07 and a 9th place finish overall. Gina Salmela led the girls with a time of 24:06. The girls finished 10th overall. Gianna Diaz ran a season best of 25:59!
Well done, kids! From Megan and I, we thank you for a wonderful and eventful season!
