Trei Udelhoven 75# and Eli Leonard 84# both captured 3rd place respectively in each of their 16 man brackets for Sugar River at the annual State folkstyle tournament in Madison last Friday. Trei went 4-1 for the day pinning all 4 of his opponents and getting beat in a close semifinal match 2-3. Eli went 5-1 in his bracket pinning 2 of his opponents and finishing strong in his last match for 3rd place. Both boys are returning state place finishers. Way to go Trei and Eli! So proud of their accomplishments.
Six Sugar River youth wrestlers took to the mats at the Alliant Energy Center last Friday and Saturday for State competition.
They came home with 2-3rd place finishers and went 13-10 respectively in all of their matches.
Here are the 6 wrestlers with each of their match results. Madox Mau 1st grader at 51# went 1-2 for his group. Did great for his FIRST TIME qualifying for State. Zecheriah Bair (3x state Qualifier) at 57# unfortunately lost both of his first 2 matches so was done right away. Blake Endres (3x state Qualifier) 63# went 2-2 for the day. Trei Udelhoven 75#...
