Pirates End Road to State for Wildcats

The Belleville Wildcats volleyball team hosted Prairie du Chien for a Regional game on October 17th, winning in three, 25-16; 25-23; 25-16.
Jade Halvensleben was a kill leader with 11. Halvensleben also had two blocks. Rachael Heittola also had 11 kills along with six blocks and two aces. Sydney Gentilli led the team with three aces and 14 digs. Sam Trainor had 26 assists while Ellie Gentilli had five digs.
"Prairie du Chien was a competitive team with a lot of potential," said Coach Kelsey Schmit.
For their second Regional game, the team traveled to Waterloo on October 19th. They lost in three, 13-25; 21-25; 21-25.
Leading the team with eight kills each were Jade Halvensleben and Rachael Heittola. Halvensleben also had three aces and six digs while Heittola had one block. Rylee Hubbard and Jenna Shrader each had one block. Sam Trainor had 23 assists and Ellie Gentilli had three digs.
The team ended their season with a conference record of 6-4.
