Wildcats Split Week

The New Glarus and Belleville volleyball teams met up in New Glarus on October 10th. Belleville won all three sets, 25-11; 25-20; 26-24.
Belleville’s Rachael Heittola led the Wildcats with seven kills and four blocks. Jade Halvensleben had six kills and was the ace leader with four. Erin Kittleson had two aces. Sam Trainor led the Wildcats with 12 assists and Sydney Gentilli had 14 digs.
“We were able to get all players in the match tonight,” commented Belleville Coach Kesley Schmit. “A nice team win for Belleville.”
For the Knights, Julia Barnaby was the kill leader with six. Barnaby also had four blocks and two aces. Willow Lee had five kills and five digs. Lily Himmelman had two blocks and two aces. Riley Parker had two blocks and 17 assists. Zoe Moen had two aces, while Olivia Xistris had nine digs.
“Seniors finished the night together on the court and fought back to almost take the third set,” said New Glarus Coach Jenna Piche. “Huge thanks to all seniors and their dedication and hard work in volleyball.”
On October 12th, the Wildcats hosted Waterloo. They lost in three, 20-25; 14-25; 10-25.
Jade Halvensleben was the team kill leader with seven, and she also had six digs. Rachael Heittola had five kills and was the team ace leader, with two. Sam Trainor led the Wildcats with 14 assists while Sydney Gentilli led in digs, with 11.
The Wildcats ended the regular season with a conference record of 6-4. They hosted Prairie du Chien in a regional match up on October 17th.
