Our first skunk of the season happened at S’wisco Taphaus when Loretta Herfel and Randy Skogen shuffled a block of cheese full of holes to Cheese-Eaters Keith Wenger and Giff Hoesly in the seventh frame to propel 5th Quarter into a 20-point lead over S’wisco Taphaus. The Cheese-Eaters gnawed fast and furious in the eighth frame, but found themselves 5 points short in the end. Even with the skunk, Keith and Giff were able to finish stronger than Steve Sponem and Don Williams (Kleeman’s), who finished the night with a 69, for this week’s low score. In this match between Kleeman’s and Hooterville, the Express flew into the station with 38 points more than the Hay-Shakers.

The Mounties, from It’s Time Pub and Grill, were able to quickly disarm the Norsk-Cowboys taking an early 4-point lead that shot up to a 73-point advantage after seven frames. With an impressive eighth frame, the Cowboys were able to collar 29 more points than the Mounties, cutting the deficit to a mere 44 points when all was said and done.

In a tight match in Pine Bluff, Shenanigans-Pranksters were able to get to within 6 points of the Pipe-Benders’ at the end of seven frames. But Jones’ Plumbing threaded a perfect eighth frame (60 points), while the Pranksters could only swindle 35 points out of the Pipe-Benders for a 31-point victory bending in the direction of Jones’ Plumbing. Chad Kitsemble and Jerry Retrum (Pranksters) spoiled a perfect night for John Ott and Mark Losenegger (Pipe-Benders) in the fifth frame. John and Mark ended the evening with this week’s high score of 115. Therefore, for the second week in a row, Jones’ Plumbing had a couple with the week’s high score.

With J&M Bar finding refuge in the Barneveld sewer system, the Screaming-Eagles barely had enough to feast upon as the River-Rats gave up just 8 points by the end of the match giving the Eagles a tick in the win column.

**Due to a change in ownership, Shenanigans will be closed through December 1st, therefore games scheduled to be played in Barneveld through November 30th will have to be played at a location other than Shenanigans. Teams affected are: S’wicso Taphaus, J&M Bar, Jones Plumbing and It’s Time. Captains for Shenanigans and Eagle Heights will need to work out the details with the captains of the affected teams and inform the applicable bars where the match will be played and the League Secretary well in advance of these matches.

Standings: 5th Quarter 2-0; Hooterville Express 2-0; It’s Time 2-0; Eagle Heights 1-1; J&M Bar 1-1; Jones’ Plumbing 1-1; Norsk 1-1; Kleeman’s 0-2; S’wisco Taphaus 0-2; Shenanigans 0-2.
