The Monticello Ponies baseball team lost at Black Hawk on May 8th, 9-13.

Coach Scott Smice said, “Travis McCoy pitched another good outing, giving up only three earned runs, as Monticello had eight errors and stranded 17 players on base.”

On May 9th, the Ponies hosted Pecatonica, losing 1-15 in five innings. Smice called the Pecatonica team “very good.”

On Friday, May 12th, Monticello played a double header at River Ridge.

In game one, the Ponies started out with a 5-1 lead but ended up losing the game 7-11. They lost the second game as well, 7-17.
