Monticello Track Does Well at Deerfield Classic

On May 5th, the Monticello track team competed against 19 other teams at the Deerfield Classic.
In the girls 100-Meter Dash, Alyssen Noriega placed fourth with a time of 13.13.
Finishing in eighth place in the girls 1600-Meter Run was Maggie Bak, with a time of 5:58.34. Abby Wicker (6:10.42) also competed in the race.
Competing in the boys 1600-Meter Run were Simon Blohowiak (5:40.36) and Sam Allard (5:49.33).
Running in the girls 400-Meter Dash was Ali Risley (1:16.79).
Running in the boys 400-Meter Dash was Peter Blumer (1:10.24).
Monticello’s girls 4x100-Meter Relay team placed twelfth with a time of 56.90.
In the girls 800-Meter Run, Maggie Bak (2:38.96) and Abby Wicker (2:39.72) placed ninth and tenth, respectively.
Running in the boys 800-Meter Run were Robert Burt (2:21.01), Simon Blohowiak (2:42.54) and Sam Allard (2:46.43).
Alyssen Noriega placed second in the girls 200-Meter Dash with a time of 27.09.
In the boys 200-Meter Dash, Max Hoffmaster placed eighth with a time of 23.78.
Participating in the girls Long Jump event was Karlene Walters (11-06.25). Cody Garfoot (15-04.00) participated in the boys Long Jump.
Bryss Shover placed ninth in the boys Discus with a throw of 120-03. Kyle Walters (100-08) also competed in this event.
In the boys Shot Put, Bryss Shover placed seventh with a final of 43-00.00.
The team heads to Belleville for an invitational on Friday, May 12. The meet begins at 4:00 p.m.
