Grapplers Have Busy Week

Six Sugar River Wrestling seniors were honored by Coach Pete Swenson on Thursday, January 5th. They include John Chenoweth at 138, Hayden Latsch at 152, Tyler Varney at 160, Noah Leonard at 170, Calvin Binger at 170/182, and Trent Siegenthaler at 220. Chenoweth, Latsch, Leonard and Binger are New Glarus students, Varney is a Belleville student and Siegenthaler attends Monticello High School. Coach Swenson said, "It has been a privilege to coach these young men over the last four, and more years. To see the growth through the years has been enjoyable. We hope they are able to take something that they have learned in wrestling and use it within their life. This is the ending of one chapter and we are confident that their next will be full of success."
The Sugar River Raider varsity wrestlers had an unusually busy week, participating in three meets.
On January 5th, they hosted Beloit Memorial at the Belleville Intermediate School for a dual. The final score was Beloit Memorial 55, Sugar River 20.

Robert Chenoweth (120) lost to Robert Johnson.
