The Sugar River Raiders wrestlers participated in the Lourdes Academy OTW Classic the weekend before the New Year.

Lucas Fink (5-7) wrestled in the 113 lb weight class and scored 4 team points. In round one, Fink lost by fall to Parker Schamburek of Sheboygan Falls. For round two, Fink received a bye. In round three, Fink won by decision of Brendan Konitzer of Oconto Falls. Fink lost in round four to Wautoma/Wild Rose’s Abram Lezama.

Robert Chenoweth (8-7) scored five team points wrestling at 120 lbs. In round one, Chenoweth won over Illiana Christian’s Sam Dekker. In round two, Reedsburg Area’s Mason McMillen won by fall over Chenoweth. In round three, Chenoweth won by decision over Oshkosh West’s Josh Coopman. In round four, Riley Sleger, wrestling for Valders, won by fall over Chenoweth.

Justin Knoebl (10-4) wrestled in the 126 lb weight class and scored four team points. In round won, Knoebl won by fall over Amherst’s Trevor Carlson. Derek Moravec, Wabeno-Laona, won round two by fall over Knoebl. In round three, Chenoweth lost by decision to Wittenburg-Birnamwood’s Zach Johnson.

Max Gerner (9-7) scored five team points in the 132 lb weight class. Gerner won round one by forfeit over Green Bay West. In round two, Gerner lost by fall to Southern Door’s River Pawelski. Gerner won round three by decision over Max Schierl, Stevens Point High. Round four saw Whitefish Bay’s Jonah Nelson win over Gerner by tech fall.

John Chenoweth (12-4) wrestled in the 138 lb weight class, scoring 7 team points. Chenoweth won round one by forfeit over Menasha. In round two, Chenoweth won by decision over Anthony Christenson, Waterford. Luke Oltmanns, Valders, won by fall over Chenoweth in round three. Chenoweth won round four by decision over Wilmot Union’s Kyeler Moudy. Rocco Iannantone, Andrew High School, won by fall over Chenoweth in round five.

Jack Diederich (6-4) scored two team points in the 145 lb weight class. Diederich won round one by decision over Reedsburg Area’s Bryce Bierman. In round two, Diederich fell to Matthew Pekarske, Valders. Ripon’s Wilson Agamaite won by fall over Diederich in round three.

Hayden Latsch (3-7) wrestled in the 152 lb weight class and scored three team points. Latsch lost by fall to Whitefish Bay’s Dajun Johnson in round one. In round two, Latsch won by fall over Westfield’s Keaton Wasson. Dan Strouf, Valders, won by fall over Latsch in round three.

Tyler Varney (0-3) scored no points in the 160 lb weight class. Varney fell to Wilmot Union’s Hunter Valach in round one, and fell to Deerfield’s Ehren Ezzell in round two.

Calvin Binger (3-11) scored zero team points in the 170 lb weight class. Binger fell to Bryce Oakland, Chippewa Falls, in round one. In round two, Binger received a bye, and in round three Binger lost by fall to Winneconne’s Nick Braun.

Tanner Jelle (4-4) wrestled in the 195 lb weight class and scored six team points. In round one, Jelle lost by fall to Markesan’s Bryce Friday. Jelle received a bye for round two and in round three he won by fall over Omro’s Jaeden Frost. Jelle lost in round four by decision to North Fond du Lac’s Marcus Orlandoni.

Daniel Enloe (5-3) scored eight team points wrestling in the 285 lb weight class. In round one, Enloe won by fall over Peshtigo’s Blake VanVooren. Enloe won round two by fall over Winnebago Lutheran Academy’s Ryan Jacobs. Enloe lost by fall to Lomira’s Adam Kinyon in round three. In round four, Enloe lost by fall to De Pere’s Ryan Berg.

The team will host a dual against Beloit Memorial at the Belleville Intermediate School on Thursday, January 5th. The match begins at 7:00 p.m.
