Sugar River Soccer Loses to DePere
Last weekend, Sugar River Soccer played DePere in the first round at the Waunakee Soccer Tournament, losing to DePere by a score of 1-2.
Brock Kelly, assisted by Jack Gentilli, scored the first goal of the match in the first half, with a shot from outside the 18-yard box.
DePere scored their first goal approximately 10 minutes into the second half, off a Sugar River player that was attempting to clear the ball, but missed and hit it into their own net.
Sugar River was called for a foul in their penalty box with four minutes left in the game, resulting in a penalty kick for DePere, which resulted in their second goal.
Sugar River traveled to the DDHS Soccer Complex on Tuesday, August 30th, to face the Delavan-Darien team and will play in a tournament at Big Foot High School on Saturday, September 3rd.
