On May 16th, the Ponies softball team lost a tough one to visitor Black Hawk, 8-1, giving up five runs in the fourth inning on two errors and two walks.

Megan Lehr, Jessie Garrison and Lexi Graber all went 1-3.

Monticello faced the Juda Panthers in Juda on May 17th, who are ranked second in the state, losing 17-7. The Panthers came out swinging and their first nine hitters scored.

“That was the start to a long night,” said Coach Duane Garrison.

Lindsey Pence went 3-3, with a double and three RBIs. Hannah Zanow and Claire Klossner were both 2-3.
