Ponies Perform Well at Meet

The Monticello Ponies Track and Field team traveled to Platteville on Thursday, March 31st, where they participated in the UW-Platteville High School Invitational at Williams Fieldhouse.
Max Hoffmaster, Cody Garfoot and Austin Koch all participated in the preliminaries for the boys 55-Meter Dash. Unfortunately none placed high enough to advance to the finals.
In the boys 200-Meter Dash, Max Hoffmaster placed eighth with a time of 26.02. Cody Garfoot finished with a time of 27.89, Jarrett Long finished with a time of 32.03 and Austin Blumer finished with a time of 35.88.
Andy Yaun ran in the boys 400-Meter Dash and finished in fourth place with a time of 54.47. Bill Spahr finished the event with a time of 1:00.47.
Participating in the boys 800-Meter Run was Logan Marty, who finished with a time of 2:25.38.
Sam Allard ran in the boys 1600-Meter Run, finishing with a time of 6:34.45.
The relay team of Max Hoffmaster, Bill Spahr, Logan Marty and Andy Yaun ran in the 4x400-Meter Relay, finishing third in the event with a time of 3:56.80.
Competing in the boys Shot Put event were Bryss Shover, Dezmond Hanenberger and Kyle Walters. Shover came in third, with a final of 39-05.00. Hanenberger had a final of 35-03.00 and Walters had a final of 34-03.00.
Running in the preliminaries for the girls 55-Meter Dash were Emilie Gietzel and Chandler Hansen. Both girls missed qualifying for the finals.
In the girls 200-Meter Dash event, Courtney Kammes finished with a time of 32.50 and Calissa Briggs finished with a time of 33.11.
Alyssen Noriega finished fifth in the girls 400-Meter Dash event with a time of 1:08.75. Teammate Marissa Peterson finished with a time of 1:14.67.
In the girls 1600-Meter Run, Abby Wicker placed ninth, finishing with a time of 6:08.45. Ashley Risley finished with a time of 6:23.17.
Competing in the girls 4x200-Meter Relay was the team of Courtney Kammes, Marissa Peterson, Alyssen Noriega and Chandler Hansen. They placed eighth, with a time of 2:11.55.
Coming in third in the girls 4x400-Meter Relay was the team of Emilie Gietzel, Calissa Briggs, Ashley Risley and Abby Wicker. They finished with a time of 5:02.98.
The Ponies had four girls participating in the Shot Put event. Sienna Coldiron finished with 23-05.50. Emily Koch finished with 23-03.00. Chandler Hansen finished with 21-03.00. Right behind Hansen was Samantha Gierhart, who finished with 21-00.00.
