PeeWee A Region Champs!

The Avalanche PeeWee A team became Region 4 PeeWee 3A Champions and advanced to state tournaments to be held in Baldwin, March 12-13.

February 12-14 marked WAHA state play-downs for all youth hockey teams. Avalanche Hockey proudly has four teams representing the region at state tournaments, which will be held the first and second weekends in March. Teams advancing to the state tournaments are Bantam A, Bantam B, PeeWee A, and Squirt B.

PeeWee A State Bound and Region 4 Champs

The Avalanche PeeWee A were seeded #1 going into play-downs and first took on Sauk Prairie PeeWee A. The Avalanche easily defeated Sauk Prairie, 10-3. Tessa Janecke and Hayden Roth each earned hat tricks. Also scoring for the Avalanche were Alvin Buholzer, Alyssa Knauf, and Blaze Janecke. Earning assists on the goals were Hayden Roth (2), Tessa Janecke (2), Roman Bauer, Alyssa Knauf, and Alvin Buholzer (2). The Avalanche outshot Sauk Prairie 60-12.

On Sunday, the PeeWee came up against Wisconsin Dells-Reedsburg (RWD). The Avalanche came out strong and dominated the entire game. Hayden Roth earned a hat trick, while Alyssa Knauf and Sarah Edler earned assists. Roman Bauer, assisted by Rob Schroeder, fired one in from the blue line. Tessa Janecke scored the last Avalanche goal, assisted by Rob Schroeder. The Avalanche defeated RWD 5-1, and outshot them 45-12. The Avalanche PeeWee A team became Region 4 PeeWee 3A Champions and advanced to state tournaments to be held in Baldwin, on March 12-13.

Bantam A Advances to State Tourney

In the first round of play-downs, the Bantam A took on Baraboo A. The Avalanche dominated the entire game, shutting out Baraboo 5-0. Travis Edmunds earned a hat trick while Hayden Roth added two goals. Earning assists were Cade Janecke, Broc Kuberski, Payton Stauffacher, and Anika Einbeck.

In the second game, the Bantam A team faced a tough Sauk Prairie team and fell 5-0. Fortunately, the Avalanche Bantam A will advance to the state tournament in Sheboygan, March 5-6, with the wild card spot.

Squirt B

Seeded first in their bracket, the Squirt B team dominated in their first play-down game defeating Wisconsin Dells, 13-0. The Squirt B took on Sauk in the final play-down game and won 5-2. The Avalanche Squirt B are State bound and Region 4 3B champs! They will play in Amery in Squirt State Tournament March 5-6.
