Belleville Girls Beat Deerfield
The Deerfield Demons made the trip down to Belleville on January 12th. The Lady Wildcats were leading at half-time, 27-16.
Coach Kerry Steinagel said, “This game we started out from the beginning with our defensive pressure. The girls were putting pressure on Deerfield, with defense that created offense. During the game we had eight steals, with six of them coming in the first half. The girls converted on these steals with 13 of our points coming off of turnovers. During the first half the girls were sharing the ball well.”
Despite Deerfield outscoring Belleville in the second half, the Wildcats pulled out the win. The final score was a close one, Belleville 45, Deerfield 41.
Steinagel continued, “Our passing on this team is very efficient as shown in this game as we had 12 assists on the 16 FGs for the game. These young ladies team chemistry this year has been tremendous and I have to give all the credit to the leadership on this year’s team.”
Grace Schulting led the Wildcats with 21 points, five rebounds and four assists. Tara Hanna contributed 17 points, seven rebounds and three blocks. Aimee Sies put 3 points on the board.
