Monticello Boys Hoping to Improve

The Monticello Boys basketball team headed to Orfordville Parkview on Tuesday, November 24, and lost, 53-33.
Logan Marty put up 15 points and Jon Errthum scored 8 in the boys first game of the season.
Monticello led 6-5 with 14:07 left in the first half, but Orfordville went on a 15-2 run and Monticello never got closer than 9 points the rest of the game.
Logan Marty and Jon Errthum led the Ponies with ten rebounds each.
Jade Noble led Parkview with 16 points (four 3-pointers and two 2-pointers) in the first half, and Hunter Case contributed 11 points. Parkview's Dalton Andersen had eight rebounds.
Monticello hosted New Glarus on Saturday, November 28th, losing 50-74.
Logan Marty had 15 points, Jon Errthum had 13 points and Peter Blumer had 8 points for the Ponies. The Knights leading scorers were Zach Feller with 18 points, Jaden Kreklow with 12 points and Gavin Binger with 11 points.
Monticello led New Glarus after the first five minutes, but with 9:20 left in the first half, New Glarus went on a 25-0 run and Monticello never caught up. With eight minutes left in the game, Monticello went on a 19-6, but couldn't pull out the win.
The top rebounder for the Ponies was Jon Errthum with 14 rebounds. Logan Marty had 10 rebounds, and Braden Gafner, Peter Blumer and Dez Hanenberger each contributed three rebounds.
Gavin Binger led the Knights with seven rebounds. Cullen Brooks, Christian Arnett, Dustin Blum and Trey Taylor all had three rebounds.
Monticello heads to Belmont on November 30th, and Pecatonica on December 8th.
