Belleville Knocked off by Brodhead in Regionals

“As always, we approached the regional match against Brodhead with the attitude that every team is beatable. Freshman Jade Halvensleben stepped up for us, leading the team with four kills for the match, but unfortunately, missed serves and problems with serve receive did not allow us to get the lead in any of the sets,” said Head Coach Jill Haag. “It was an emotional night for all of us, saying goodbye to our seniors Clare, Lauren, and Ryley. We would all like to thank parents, students, and fans for coming to the matches and supporting and cheering us on throughout the season.”

The score was 17-25, 16-25, 10-25 in favor of Brodhead.

Mikayla Cann and Alli Kowalski had one ace apiece while Kowalski also had six assists. Lucy Grady tallied four assists, and Lauren O’Connor earned one block. Ryley Helwig amassed 11 digs, and like mentioned earlier, Halvensleben had four kills.
