Knights Defeat Belleville in Capitol Conference South Showdown

 


On Tuesday, May 28, the New Glarus baseball team was dominated by Cambridge, 11-3.

Koner French pitched four innings, giving up six runs – two earned – on seven hits while striking out four and walking one.

Next on the mound was John Chenoweth who pitched the next three innings; he gave up five runs – all of them earned – on eight hits while walking one and striking out one.

At the plate, Austin Schlueter was three for three with one run scored; Noah Zimmerman was one for four with one RBI; Gavin Binger was one for four with two RBI; Jared Carney was one for one; French was two for three with a double; Hayden Latsch was one for three with a run scored; and Chenoweth was two for three with a run scored.

The day before on May 27 New Glarus defeated Belleville, 7-4.

Offensively, Schlueter was one for four with a run scored; Binger was two for three with a run scored and two RBI; Way was one for three; Zimmerman was one for three; Latsch was one for three with a run scored; and Chenoweth was two for two.

Chenoweth hurled the ball the first four innings where he gave up three runs – one earned – on four hits while striking out two.

Carney was on the mound the last three innings, giving up one earned run on one hit while walking one and striking out two.
