Sugar River Track Wins Conference Quad Meet at Belleville

 


At the conference quad meet at Belleville on Tuesday, April 21, the Sugar River boys and girls teams dominated the competition.

The girls team finished with 110 points against Wisconsin Heights’ 36, and Sugar River had 94.50 points compared to Marshall’s 51.50.

On the boys side, Sugar River had 105 points to Wisconsin Heights’ 36. Marshall had 63 points while Sugar River earned 83.

In the girls 100 meter dash, Logan Fahey placed third with a time of 13.47 while Eliza Woods took seventh at 14.60. Also competing in this event for Belleville was Bridget Craker, Devyn Weiser, Kenzie O’Connor, and Bridget Olig.

In the 200 meter dash, Fahey took fourth at 28.72, and Grace Schulting was close behind in fifth with 28.89. Kati Way, Woods, Craker, Weiser, O’Connor, Sydney Stecha, Katie Stuessy, and Olig also participated in this event.

Rebecca Barr finished in second in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:09.61, while Lucy Grady also competed.

Brianne Roska took second place in the 800 meter run at 2:41.85, and Lauren O’Connor finished in third with a time of 2:48.62. Not far behind was Sam Barr, tied for fourth place at 2:59.90. Maya Severson also ran this event.

Noelle Maire won the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:30.43 while teammates Roska and Abby Weisberg took second and fourth place.

Sam Barr took third in the 3200 meter run, Lauren O’Connor took fourth, and Kerry McCoy took fifth.

In the 100 meter hurdles, Krista Diaz captured first with a time of 16.95, and Ciara Roberts earned fifth place. Diaz then won the 300 meter hurdles with Roberts getting second.

The Belleville 4x100 meter relay team of Weiser, Walela Three-Sticks, Jessica Hutter, and Woods finished in second with a time of 1:00.59.

The 4x200 meter relay team took first with a time of 1:57.26 with members Fahey, Ashley Clark, Schulting and Diaz.

The team of Hutter, Grady, Trisha Wiese and Rebecca Barr took second in the 4x400 meter relay.

Winning the 4x800 meter relay was the team of Maire, McCoy, Roska, and Weisberg at 11:29.00.

Wiese got second place in the girls high jump with a height of 4-04.00 with Grady and Roberts tying for fourth.

Taking first, second, and third place in the pole vault was Clark, Way and Rebecca Barr with Clark’s winning height at 7-06.00.

Winning the long jump was Schulting at a distance of 15-04.00 while Diaz took third at 15-00.00. O’Connor, Hutter, Three-Sticks, Craker, Woods and Stecha also participated in the long jump.

Additionally, Schulting won the triple jump at 30-06.00, and Three-Sticks and Hutter competed as well.

Daisy Rivera earned third place in the shot put with a distance of 28-09.00, and hot on her heels earning fourth was Madeline Knox at 28-07.00. Cassie McMillan and Haley Fiez also participated in this event.

Knox then got second place in the discus throw at 82-10, and McMillan, at 75-08.50, finished in fourth. Rivera and Fiez also participated in this event.

In the boys 100 meter dash, Brandon Shemanski took fourth place at 11.69, and close behind was Mike Fink in fifth place with a time of 11.78. Ryan Hayes, Cole Martin, Miguel Santos, Dalton Fahey, Nick Fahey, Nick Schult, Taylor Funseth, and Jacob Hellbach also ran this race.

With a time of 23.90, Hayes finished in second in the 200 meter dash while Dalton Fahey took third at 24.19. Cade Martin, Eli Rule, Drew Pickett, Schult, Funseth, Hellbach, and Zach Hayes also competed in this run.

Lukas Diaz, Ryan Dull, Zach Hayes, and Tyler Varney ran in the 400 meter dash for Sugar River.

Winning the 800 meter run with a time of 2:09.11 was Tyler Gilbertson. Jordan Hosler took eighth place, and Connor Theis ran this event too.

Gilbertson then earned second place in the 1600 meter run at 4:58.78 while teammates Christian Arnett and Levi Dearth competed as well.

Kyle Edge took second in the 3200 meter run with a time of 11:04.00 while Justin Edge took third at 11:12.00, and Evan Reifert competed in this event too.

Colton Boley won the 110 meter hurdles at 16.53, and Cole Myers took sixth. Moreover, Boley won the 300 meter hurdles at 43.18, and Myers took seventh.

The 4x100 meter relay team of Dalton Fahey, Cole Martin, Ryan Hayes, and Shemanski finished in first place with a time of 46.58, and the team of Cade Martin, Nick Fahey, Santos and Nick Smith took third in the same event. Furthermore, the team of Zach Kukuris, Alex O’Connor, and Sean O’Connor finished in sixth.

Taking second place in the 4x200 meter relay was Cole Martin, Ethan Gassman, Cade Martin and Rule with a time of 1:40.41.

The team of Dull, Gassman, Diaz and Boley won the 4x400 meter relay at 3:47.09.

In the 4x800 meter relay, the team of Arnett, Fredrickson, Edge and Gilbertson competed.

Boley took fifth in the high jump with a height of 5-02.00.

Smith finished second in the pole vault with a height of 8-06.00, and not far behind him was Gassman in third at 8-00.00.

Shemanski won the long jump at 21-04.00 while Ryan Hayes took second at 20-03.50. Rule, Diaz, Nick Fahey, Taylor Funseth and Zach Hayes jumped as well.

Competing in the triple jump for Sugar River was Diaz, Pickett, Rule, Santos and Funseth.

Mike Fink won the shot put with a distance of 49-04.00 while teammate Landon Zimmerman took second place at 47-02.00. Jackson McMahan earned sixth place at 39-00.00. Tony O’Connor, Alex O’Connor, Sean O’Connor and Kukuris threw shot as well.

Zimmerman took first in the discus throw at 123-10 while McMahan took third with a distance of 119-07.50. Fink, Sean O’Connor and Kukuris took sixth, seventh, and eighth place. Tony O’Connor, Alex O’Connor and Connor Theis competed as well.
