Sugar River Shuts Out Lakeside Lutheran

Sugar River soccer played at Lakeside Lutheran on September 19th for a conference game and won, 7-0. Sugar River is now 4-0-0 in conference play, and 10-3-3 overall.
In the first half of the game, Brock Kelly, assisted by Jack Gentilli, scored the first goal at 9 minutes in. Three minutes later, Kelly scored again. The third goal came on a score by Kelly, assisted by Jared Widish. At minute 25, Jack Gentilli scored for SR and less than 10 minutes later Noah Niesen, assisted by Charlie Douma, scored the final goal of the half to bring the halftime to Sugar River 5, Lakeside Lutheran 0.
The second half saw Jaden Kreklow score a goal for Sugar River, and then Jared Widish, assisted by Logan Winklepleck, scored the final goal for the team.
Tyler Boeck had five saves as goalie.
"Sugar River did a great job holding possession tonight. The boys passed the ball around well and found a lot of nice through balls," said Coach Kyle Webber. "Brock Kelly had a couple of well-hit balls find the back of the net. Good conference win for the team."
The team hosted the Youth Night game against Lodi on September 26th, and will play at Columbus on September 28th before heading back to their home field for a game against Lake Mills on October 3rd.
