Coach Kyle Webber commented that it was a "great conference game. Luther Prep played very strong. Sugar River had to find different ways to score. Kelly was fantastic tonight, with a wonderful hat trick."
For Parent's Night, the team hosted a non-conference game against Platteville/Lancaster, winning 3-1.
The first half was all Sugar River as Jaden Kreklow, assisted by Brock Kelly, and Kelly, assisted by Jared Widish, scored two goals within 12 minutes of each other.

"Great Parent's Night!" commented Coach Webber. "Platteville/Lancaster came in with a difficult defensive formation that made us have to work to break down. A great combination play brought forth the first goal. The second goal came just before halftime, gave Sugar River great momentum going into the break. Platteville/Lancaster came out strong in the second half scoring on a quick break. Sugar River sealed the win with a great finish off of a nicely taken corner kick. Great win!"
Playing Monroe in a non-conference game on September 16th, Sugar River pulled out a 4-1 win over the Cheesemakers.
Jared Widish scored the first goal at minute 19. Ten minutes later, Brock Kelly, assisted by Jack Gentilli, put one in the net.

"Good game, the boys played hard. We have had a couple of weeks with a heavy soccer game schedule," said Coach Webber. "It was good to see our boys push through the fatigue and get a win."
