Eric O'Connor (13), Cody McMillan (11), Tyler Rufenacht (22) and Bryce Neild (5) play defense against a Marshall player on January 31st.

The Wildcats hosted Marshall on January 31st. After a 4-point lead going into halftime, the team outscored Marshall in the second half and won the game, 74-64.

"This was a great win for our program and most importantly our boys.  I couldn't have been more proud with how hard we fought on Tuesday night.  Anytime Marshall threw a punch our boys never flinched but instead responded with one of our own," said Coach Jarod Wichser.  "Every time we needed a stop we found a way to get it.  Each kid stepped up and did what they were expected.  Our energy out on the floor and the bench was contagious."

Drew Shrader led the team with 23 points. Dalton Fahey put 14 points on the board, while Daniel Meier scored 13 points and Brock Kelly scored 12.

Friday night the team played at Waterloo.

"It's safe to say that we never regained our focus following our win on Tuesday.  Unfortunately, that is sometimes part of the process...learning how to handle success.  We didn't have the same focus, energy or toughness that we showed against Marshall and Waterloo made us pay.  It's a tough pill to swallow and it doesn't taste good.  I hope we learn from this and it somehow helps us as we move forward," commented Wichser.

After a 1-point deficit at halftime, that loss of focus caused the Wildcats to lose, 47-48.

Scoring 17 points for the Wildcats was Drew Shrader. Brock Kelly added 13 to the board and Tony O'Connor had 6 points.

The Wildcats will stay at home for the next two games. They play Cambridge on February 9th and Abundant Life Christian on February 11th. Tip off for both games is at 7:30 p.m.
