Belleville Girls Hand Pecatonica Crushing Loss

The Belleville Wildcats girls basketball team came with their claws out to play Pecatonica on December 5th, at home. Leading by 24 points at halftime, the Wildcats held the Vikings to just three points in the second half to claim victory. The final score was Belleville 58, Pecatonica 12. Izzy Pier and Rachael Heittola led the team with 10 points each and five rebounds apiece. Grace Schulting put 8 points on the board and had six rebounds.
The team didn't fare as well when they hosted Watertown Luther Prep on Friday night, losing 68-75. Rachael Heittola poured in 25 points for the Wildcats, and had 13 rebounds and two assists. Grace Schulting scored 19 points and had seven rebounds and three steals. Jade Halvensleben put 7 points on the board, had seven rebounds and one steal.
On Saturday, the team traveled to Mauston, where they lost, 48-59. No further information was available at press time regarding this game. The team has an overall record of 3-3. They play at Columbus on December 15th and host rival New Glarus on Monday, December 19th.
