New Glarus Softball Wins Over Monticello

Ashley Judd had three strikeouts in four innings pitching for the New Glarus Knights softball team against Monticello on April 1st.
The New Glarus girls softball team traveled to Darlington on March 29th to play a non-conference game against the Redbirds. After holding a commanding lead over Darlington for the first seven innings, the Knights faltered in the last two innings and lost by one run, 15-14.
Ashley Judd pitched for most of the game, striking out one player and allowing 11 runs. Jessica Van Dusen took over pitching duties, and allowed four runs.
Leading hitters included Ashley Judd, who went 3 for 5, with 1 RBI. Madison Perkins and Maya Kramer both went 2 for 5 at bat, and had 2 RBIs each.

Jessie Garrison pitched eight innings for the Monticello Ponies softball team in the game against New Glarus on April 1st. She had seven strikeouts in the game.
On Friday, April 1st, New Glarus headed south on Highway 69 to face the Monticello Ponies. The game was a close one, with the final score being New Glarus 19, Monticello 13.
Ashley Judd and Jessica Van Dusen shared pitching duties for the Knights. Judd struck out three players, and Van Dusen struck out six players. Jessie Garrison pitched all eight innings for the Ponies, and had seven strikeouts.
Lydia Sprecher scored five runs for the Knights, and had one RBI. Jessica Van Dusen and Grace Moen were both 2 for 6 and scored two runs each for New Glarus.
L. Graber scored three runs for the Ponies, and was 2 for 4 at bat. L. Pence was 1 for 5 at bat and scored one run. C. Hanson was 3 for 4 at bat and scored two runs and had three RBIs.
Next up for New Glarus are two home games. They hosted Black Hawk on April 4th and Lake Mills on April 5th.
Monticello has a ten day break before they host Juda/Albany on April 11th and Potosi on April 15th.
