Bantam A

January 2nd was Appreciation Day at SLICE. With many grandparents, teachers, and sponsors in the stands, the Avalanche Bantam A team hosted McFarland Spartans Bantam A. Tessa Janecke opened the game scoring, assisted by Travis Edmunds and Hayden Roth, in the first period. Hayden Roth, assisted by Roman Bauer and Tessa Janecke, lit the lamp at the top of the second period. The Spartans added a goal, followed by another Avalanche goal by Travis Edmunds, assisted by Cade Janecke and Broc Kuberski. The Spartans fought back, adding two goals near the end of the second period. Both teams were aggressive in the third period and fought hard. Time dwindled with the game ending in a 3-3 tie. Goaltender Heath Bear recorded 23 saves.

On Sunday, the Avalanche went to the Spartan's ice for a rematch. The Avalanche were first to get on the scoreboard, with Anika Einbeck scoring off a pass from Hayden Roth in the first period. The Spartans responded with two goals at the top of the second. Tessa Janecke hit the back of the net, assisted by Anika Einbeck, tying up the game. The Spartans pulled ahead with another goal. Luke Kuberski, with an assist by Cade Janecke, tied the game 3-3 with 3:20 left of the period. The game became a heated battle with both teams vying for the win. It was back and forth, but the game ended with a 3-3 tie. Goaltender Heath Bear recorded 37 saves.

PeeWee A

The Avalanche PeeWee A team traveled to Verona to take on the Wildcats PeeWee A team. Thirty-five seconds into the game Hayden Roth made an excellent pass to Tessa Janecke for the first goal. The Wildcats responded with a goal. From the blue line Roman Bauer fired one into the back of the net, with assists from Alvin Buholzer and Tessa Janecke. The Wildcats went on a scoring streak by adding four. Hayden Roth, assisted by Alvin Buholzer, scored the last goal, falling to the Wildcats 5-3. Goaltender Jack Leverton recorded 32 saves.
