Wildcats Claw Their Way to a Win Over Black River Falls

On Friday, April 23rd, the Belleville Wildcats traveled to play the Black River Falls Tigers. With a 28-7 lead at the half, the Wildcats held strong and won the game. The final score was Belleville 35, Black River Falls 7.

The Tigers were the first to score in the game, but Belleville marched right back down the field to score a touchdown on a pass from Trevor Syse to Jaxson Pier. Syse's extra point was good. Belleville then scored three times in the second quarter. Sawyer Fahey ran it in from 6 yards out, with a Syse extra point. Patrick Samon then ran it in from 1 yard out with an extra point by Syse. Their third score of the second quarter was on a fumble return by Anthony Nolden for a 45-yard gain. Syse's extra point was good.

The third quarter saw the Wildcats score one last time during the game, on a 26-yard run by Trevor Syse. His extra point attempt was successful.

Trevor Syse passed for 189 yards on 17 completed passes with 1 touchdown.

Sawyer Fahey rushed for 44 yards on 8 attempts with 1 touchdown, while Dylan Posthuma rushed for 30 yards on 3 attempts, Jake Fahey rushed for 11 yards on 5 attempts, and Patrick Samon rushed for 9 yards on 4 attempts with 1 touchdown.

Carson Syse led all Wildcats receivers with 98 yards, while Jaxson Pier had 26 yards and 1 touchdown, Anthony Nolden had 20 yards, Andrew Ace had 17 yards, Dylan Posthuma had 16 yards and Sawyer Fahey had 12 yards.

Defensively, Carson Syse, Sawyer Fahey and Anthony Nolden all had 1 interception.

The Wildcats hosted Fennimore on Friday, April 30th. Leading 28-7 at the half, the Wildcats went on to win it, 35-7.

Belleville's first TD was scored on a pass from Trevor Syse to Jaxson Pier for a 74-yard gain. Syse's extra point was good. Two minutes later, Sawyer Fahey ran it in from 12 yards out for another 6 points and Syse's extra point was successful. In the second quarter, Anthony Nolden returned a punt for 6 points and Syse kicked the extra point. Shortly before halftime, Syse threw to Fahey and kicked the extra point to make the halftime score 28-0.

The third quarter saw Syse pass to Pier for a 42-yard gain and 6 points, and Syse's extra point was good. Fennimore scored their TD in the fourth quarter.

At QB, Trevor Syse passed for 240 yards on 21 attempts. Aidan Keyes completed 2 out of 6 attempts for 9 yards.

Sawyer Fahey ran for 61 yards and 1 TD, while Dylan Posthuma had 37 rushing yards and Trevor Syse had 25.

Leading the Wildcats in receiving yards was Jaxson Pier, with 137 and 2 touchdowns, while Carson Syse had 46 yards, Anthony Nolden had 31 yards, Sawyer Fahey had 16 yards and 1 touchdown, Andrew Ace had 10 yards and Josh Peterson had 9 yards.

Belleville plays their final game of the alternate fall season at New Glarus on May 7th. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.
