Joseph Anton "Joey/Joe" Frick, beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather and friend, gained his Angel wings on November 2, 2021, after a short, but very valiant, battle with cancer. He was 70. Joe was born May 19, 1951, in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, to John and Anna Verens (Zimmer) Frick.

He graduated from New Glarus High School in 1969. While in high school, he met his life-long love and beloved wife, Charlene Schultz. They were married March 4, 1972, in New Glarus, WI, and soon became a family of four with the births of their daughters, Toni and Tammy. Joe and Charlene would have celebrated their 50-year wedding anniversary on March 4, 2022.

Joe lived most of his life in Wisconsin, moving to Sequim, Washington, in 2006 to be closer to family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Charlene Frick; daughters, Toni (Bart) Franklin and Tammy Frick McNamera; mother-in-law, Betty Legler; sisters-in-law, Nancy (Kent) Brauer, Lorene (Kim) Bowman, Shirley Johnson and June Frick; brother-in-law; John Vetterli; granddaughters Erika Huggins and Lisa Abd Rezagh; many nieces; nephews; and especially friends, Richard Motan, Andy Tatum, Fred and Brenda Caruso. Joe also leaves behind his beloved fur puppies, Harley Davidson and Curly Joe; and grand-fur kitties, Phoebe and Naomi.

He was preceded in death by parents, John and Anna Frick; stepfather, Jake Durst; grandmother, Nettie Durst; father-in-law, Wilbert Schultz; stepfather-in-law, Art Legler; brother, John Frick; sister, Mary Ann Schuett Chambers; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn Zweifel, Marian Vetterli, Charlie Johnson, Greg Schuett, Fred Chambers, Mike Zweifel; nephew, A.J. Schuett; and niece, Heather Brauer.

Joe's life would seem too short to many, but for those of us who were touched by him understand that his life left an imprint on our hearts that would exceed the quantity of time that he was here among us. He was known for his gift to talk to anyone, anywhere at any time. He was a family man at heart, and would do anything for his family.

Joe worked most of his life as a truck driver; first working with a family company Zimmerman Oil in Monticello, WI, followed by Monroe and Wingra Redi Mix companies in Monroe and Madison, WI.

In his leisure time, Joe loved spending time outdoors. He was an avid hunter in his early years, hunting deer, raccoons, rabbits and squirrels. He also loved spending time on the lake and would spend countless hours fishing. In 1988, Joe and Charlene built their dream log home on Lake Wisconsin in Merrimac, WI. They spent endless hours cruising the shores of the lake in their pontoon boat. After moving to Washington, he found a new love for salmon fishing.

Joe also has a love for the fast and furious, first with his 1969 Corvette and later with their Harley Davidson Trike. Joe and Charlene took a trip of a lifetime on the Harley Davidson, traveling over 6,500 miles in one-month round trip from WA to WI and back.

Joe also loved attending any classic country western concert. Joe and Charlene loved attending the Old Sidekicks concerts locally based in Sequim, WA.

Lastly, Joe and Charlene found a love for camping. Since 2014, they served as volunteer Camp Hosts at WA State parks. In fact, they were awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from Fort Flagler State Park.

Joe was a member of the Teamsters Local 695 union in WI. Joe and Charlene were also members of the Old Coots on Scoots Motorcycle club in Sequim, WA. Rain or shine, you were likely to see Joe and Charlene cruising the roads in WA with his dear friends, Richard and Andy. In fact, Joe enjoyed one last ride on his motorcycle a month before his health declined.

His family wishes to extend a special thanks to the dedicated staff of the Avamere Olympic Rehabilitation Center in Sequim, WA. Additionally, the family would like to say a special thanks to Joe and Charlene's dear friend, Richard, who took great care of them both.

A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be held on August 20, 2022, at the home of Nancy and Kent Brauer in Dayton, WI. Joe's immediate family and close friends are invited to attend. Joe was one of a kind and to be loved by him was truly a blessing. You taught each one of us so many life lessons. Our life was and forever will be enhanced by your love and compassion. We are comforted knowing that Joe is no longer in pain. In fact, he is "Cruising up in Heaven on his heavenly motorcycle sharing his gift to talk". Joe is forever in our hearts.
