School Districts to Host Candidate Forum for 80th State Assembly Seat

Several regional school districts are banding together to co-sponsor a candidate forum for the 80th State Assembly Seat being vacated by retiring Representative Sondy Pope (D-Mount Horeb). The Mount Horeb Area School District, in partnership with the New Glarus and Verona Area School Districts, will host the event on Monday, July 25, 2022, from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m., at Mount Horeb High School’s cafeteria, located at 305 S. 8th Street.)
Seven candidates (five Democrats and two Republicans) are on the August 9 primary ballot. Winners will advance to the general election, slated for Tuesday, November 8. The following candidates have been invited to attend the forum: Mike Bare (D); Nathan Graewin (R); Anna Halverson (D); Chad Kemp (D); Jacob Luginbuhl (R); Doug Steinberg (D); Dale Yurs (D). They will field questions about education.
