March 24, 2022

Kristin Napora

Age: 41

Occupation: Stay at home parent.

Years lived in district: 9.

Incumbent? No.

Have you been on the school board or held any other public office before? If so please describe: No, this is my first time running for public office.

Why are you running for school board? I want to give back to the community. In the past, my volunteerism has been toward supporting our hiking trails and other outdoor organizations, but one of my son's teachers suggested I run for school board. As a proud parent of a Belleville student, I'm eager to support our teachers and help them continue to improve upon the high educational standards they've achieved in our district. I would be honored to serve the school district and our community.

What issues do you find most important to the school board? How would you handle these issues? Of course, the primary goal must be providing a quality education for our children in a safe, secure environment. I welcome the opportunity to interact with members of our Belleville community; to hear their ideas and share in their concerns. As a board member I would listen to all opinions and strive to make decisions that serve in the best interests of all of our district's children.

I would also work to provide a safe and respectful environment for our teachers and staff. The pandemic has placed an incredible amount of strain on them. While they've risen to the challenges impressively, I'm concerned about burnout and retention. It's critical to support them as they educate and care for our children.
