Ron Roesslein

Age: 60

Occupation: Road Supervisor, Town of New Glarus

Years Lived in District: 32 years.

Incumbent? No.

Have you been on the school board or held any other public office before? If so please describe: No.

Why are you running for school board? I am running for the school board because I want to ensure that our school district continues to be one of the best in the state. I am a very strong supporter of our school district and the community of New Glarus. I want to balance the needs of the students, the school employees, and the community. I have been an active, constant, and supportive resident of New Glarus for many years. I will listen to all sides and make informed decisions. I have no personal agenda and will do what I feel is best for the community and the school district. I want to see our students continue to be successful once they graduate. The best way to do that is to support our excellent staff members so they can prepare the students for the next stage of their lives, whether it is entering the workforce, securing an apprenticeship, or attending a two-year or four-year college.

What issues do you find most important to the school board? How would you handle these issues? The most important issue to the school board is to ensure our students receive the quality education they deserve that will best serve their learning styles, their social interactions, and their future paths in life. I will continue to support AP classes and hands-on learning for careers that do not require a four-year degree. It is also important that differences on the school board be set aside, and constructive discussion occurs to resolve issues within the school district.

Any additional comments? I look forward to serving the community as a school board member and will listen and collaborate with others to remove the emotion from decision making.
